We have two teachers leaving at work and they are shortlisting for candidates today and interviews next week so I have told my boss today so he can consider this for next year. This is how it went...
"Jon, can I have a word?"
"Yeah, sure."
"I'm having a baby."
(Hands to face) "Ahhhhh!"
(giggle) "I think the usual response is congratulations?!"
"Yes of course, congratulations..."
I then went on to say that it's very early days but wanted to keep him in the loop especially given the circumstances at the moment and in all likelihood would be staying on until the beginning of December as not due till around Christmas (Oh yeah...maybe Christmas Day!). So I think he was a little shocked but happy for me obviously. I am nearly 30 and just got married so he must have thought it was on the cards soon!

Have had a busy week! Starting to feel a little more nausea today but no sickness as yet. It's my own fault for complaining about not having any! Still feeling really bloated...people will think I have a baby bump already but it's all still my own flabbiness unfortunately!

5 weeks

So far I've been feeling OK, no sickness and only a couple of passing bouts of nausea. Have had to tell a few people at work as needed to go to the toilet more often and also I am so excited I can't keep it a secret! I know I shouldn't feel worried as it's early days but I thought I would have more symptoms. Boobs hurt and feel a little more tired than usual and slightly thirstier, peeing more but that's it. Also feeling quite bloated and hungry. Am helping at the Annie show this week so it will keep me busy!

OMG I was so so so nervous when I was waiting for this to come up this morning! I was in the bathroom and kept walking around looking at it with the little egg timer spinning round. Once I caught it on an angle and could see the letters underneath that said not pregnant and thought that's what it was going to say. Thankfully it didn't say that and I breathed a sigh of relief as this lovely image appeared! :-) Picture message sent to parents...'It's really true!'

When to tell, when not to tell, that is the question?! Obviously we want to be sure, and not get people's hopes up but we had to decide about telling our parents today as Robin's parents are going on holiday tomorrow and I don't think I can keep it from my mum for two weeks until they come back! So we told our parents tonight! Firstly, we had to go round Robin's parents to drop off a guide book they wanted to borrow for their trip to Thailand. While we were there we were a bit indecisive about telling them so we went away, round his brother's for a few minutes and then discussed the fact that I couldn't keep it from my mum for two weeks so we would have to tell them tonight. They thought it was a bit odd as we re-arrived and then told them the news. Obviously they were thrilled.

Unfortunately, both my parents weren't home so I decided I would have to ring my mum later and tell her. When I did get to speak to her later on she was screaming with happiness down the phone! Exciting times! I've sent Robin out to get a digital test now. Keep thinking how embarrassing it will be if the Ebay tests I got from Shang Hai or wherever are just a dodgy lot that give loads of false positives! :s Is this really happening?!

Haven't told family or anything yet but I'm at work feeling quite delicate knowing I have this secret! Can't wait to tell our parents but want to do a digital to confirm it all first...so scared it's going to just disappear! My period isn't actually due until tomorrow so we've agreed to wait until Wednesday just to make sure!

OK, so let's imagine I'm writing this on the actual day of my pregnancy beginning...I'm 3 weeks and 5 days pregnant and I've just peed on a stick to confirm yesterday's VERY faint line and this is what I get. Yes...finally after trying since September, we've finally conceived our first child in April. VERY EXCITED!!!!
